I disappear quite often...

Death
Nothing much to tell, the Cultural week has been going rather well, some days we have no people, some others we do. We've eaten a lot of french things, we even had balloons made out of china paper.
And tomorrow, the talent show and the halloween party hehe.
That's it, I have no idea what to put, I think I've abandonded this thing way too much.
But that's just life.

Death

I'm sick...

Tired
I have a damn flu and I can say I hate it sooooooo much.
Tomorrow we'll have a great mexican dinner.
Today I'm going to see "The leyend of 1900" with my mother, and maybe another movie, a Norwegian one ^^ I think it's called "Kitchen stories".
And then I'll die for a while, I'm sleepy and all I want is my bed, some liquids and a good night sleep. Thank God I'm not going to school tomorrow.
That's it.
I'm gone.

Usual ranting - desvaríos normales

Shinu
I can't think of anything to write, but I don't want to leave my poor blog abandoned... it looks so lonely...
So, I have lots of classes this period, and they are all very interesting actually, and we finally have decent Interpretation, with quick audios and everything. So here, my subjects.
-English literature.
-Bussiness translation English-French-Spanish.
-Technical translation French-Spanish.
-Technical translation English-Spanish.
-Consecutive interpretation French-Spanish.
-Simultaneous interpretation English-Spanish
And my normal French classes. So yeah, they are a lot, but I love each and every one of them.
What else?
I have a new adiction and a new favourite author. Tom Holt (yet another Brit).
He's great, sarcastic and with a very weird type of humour, the kind of humour I just love so now I want more of his books and sadly I only have 3 of them. I need to get someone to buy them for me ^^.
Other than that I haven't done much really.

23...

Free spirit
I turned 23 today, and I'm happy, I think I've had a pretty good life so far. No complaints. No regrets.
I had a great time (I had to go to school, but since we're just starting we didn't have clases, and my classmates got me a cake ^^).
I got a Death Note from my brother and some money from my parents, so I'll probably go and buy a pair of shoes that I've been wanting since long ago.
And that's it.
I'm just happy today.

Holidays!!!!!!

  • Aug. 18th, 2009 at 10:18 PM
OMG

Finally, after suffering two school periods in a row, after suffering with the translation exams (damn French, I still don´t get it right) and after writing a very big paper for my french history course I´m on holidays, and (thanks to a friend of mine) I get to spend them in Europe, because she offered me her house so I only needed to buy a plane ticket and that´s it, free lodging and free food, I barely have to spend anything (this is the only way to travel when people is broke... which seem to be my normal state).
And, to make the best out of it, we´re paying a visit to England (sharing a very cheap hotel because no one has a home there, at least not a home to fit us both).
I´m so very happy.
So very greatful that my dad could send me.
I´ll put some pictures later, when I get back home probably.
I love holidays. Why can´t they be longer.

what the hell
I've been reading a lot lately, it's impressive. I read "Eye of the crow" and I can say that I loved it, much better than I expected.
And now, I've been hooked up by another book, this is no good, this adiction is gonna make me declare myself in bankrupt.
Anyway.
I need to make a paper for french. A presentation (still for french). And another paper on history (and yes... it's in french).
Lately I've been doing so many things in french that I'm about to go nuts. I really don't like the language, and now, all the stuff with the "2 conditionel", 3" conditionel" and "subjonctif imparfait" are driving me crazy... I hate grammar.
Thank God, I'm about to finish, 7 more months and I'm done with french classes.
What else?
I claim holidays, I don't wanna wake up early anymore.
I saw HBP... not as good as I thought it was gonna be, but it wasn't bad.
My computer hates me, but that's normal.
And I should be going, I really need to make that presentation, otherwise I'm not gonna get it done in time and my teacher is gonna murder me.
And I should start that paper as well, because it's due on monday... and I have no idea what I should write... or how to do it.
I hate French.
I'm ranting... I'm going now.

I'm still alive

  • Jul. 17th, 2009 at 11:42 AM
Death
I seem to be writing less each month... one day this poor blog is gonna fall into oblivion.
HBP is already in cinemas and I want to go... however, I think I'll wait for a week, because now it will be chaos, with all the crazy fans wanting to go and all.
I have no idea what to write here, my brain seem to be dead. I have lots of homework to do, but that's not news anymore.
One of my teachers wrote a book of short stories and I finally bought a copy, they are all so nice and the endings are really great, not at all something you expect. I liked it a lot ^^
What else? I need to finish my semantics final paper. A presentation, another presentation... another paper... goodness.
Thank God is Friday, so I should go and do some homework, so that I don't have to do it on Sunday.
That's it, I know, I'm not being coherent now.
I don't care really, it's the end of the week, I can't force my brain to function.

The horror - El horror

  • Jul. 1st, 2009 at 10:18 AM
Enjoy insanity
Tomorrow I have my Japanese test (it's been a while since I've made one... or so it seems). This time I covered 5 lessons so it's a whole lot more to study. Damn.
I think I'm gonna make a small guide this afternoon, just to make sure I check everything again and of course, to study the bloody kanjis that I hate so much.
My brother is back and he got a game called "My Japanese coach" it's great and it's funny... but the bloody machine won't give me more levels so I'm stuck at lesson 12... and I already know everything. We haven't even started in kanjis yet, that's boring.
I got many, many mangas. Lots of "Death Note" plus "Death Note 13" with a beautiful L card with his real name printed on it. It's so lovely, and of course it has everything you possibly would like to know about the manga. It's adorable.
I also got Ceres 1, its' been a while since I read the manga, and I don't remember much anymore, I just remember I liked the story, it was nice and really crazy. Very Japanese like style.
What else? Oh yeah, my brother bought me a new Terry Pratchett book, it's called "Thief of time" and it looks incredible.
He also got me many note pads, notebooks and stuff. I got a big stuff rabbit. Alice's rabbit, from "Alice in wonderland". He is just adorable, the most lovable bunny I've ever seen, I'll take a picture this weekend and put it up if I have the time.
And that's it. I'm at school, in French class (supposedly) and it's raining. The light went out much earlier and I couldn't see a thing in my Japanese class.
Lovely weather...

No hemos visto kanjis siquiera y me aburre.

Hate doing homework on sundays

  • Jun. 28th, 2009 at 4:24 PM
homework is a crime
I really hate working sundays... damn homework.
Good thing is I'm about to finish, I just need to look up some words and that's it, I'll go and do something else.
Yesterday I saw "Le placard" with Gerard Depardieu and Daniel Auteuil. It's so funny ^^, they are such great actors.
And today my mum invited me a pizza so we went out, it was really delicious, I love pizza (although, not on an every day basis).
What else?
I had a translation exam last wednesday I think. Everything was ok until the Internet died (and of course, all of my classmate including myself yelled like crazy people, because we were looking up the words on-line...)
That wasn't funny, but I think that, all in all, it was ok.
Tomorrow I'm gonna have to stay longer to start checking my final paper with my semantics teacher.
And I just finished reading "The seventh unicorn". It's a lovely book ^^.
That's it.

Death
I finally got a book I was looking for, I'm so happy ^^, I'll read it as soon as I finish with the one I have now ^^.
I also got a movie called "Wasabi" I've seen it many times but I could never get the money to buy it... until now.
What else?
I had to read "Memoires of a dutiful daugther" for my semantics final paper, I'm supposed to make a comparative study between the french version and the spanish one, to see it the translation was ok, what kind of phenomena happended in the process and all that. The book was ok, but is not my kind of book really.
And I think that's it, my life is not particularly interesting now. I'll go see "Star Trek" tomorrow with some friends so that should be good ^^.
And I want... no. I demand holidays.
That's it, don't mind me, I'm insane.

I'm lazy and I don't care...

  • Jun. 1st, 2009 at 4:41 PM
Enjoy insanity
I decided to skip school today (but just because I had no japanese class and I wasn't gonna wake up early just to go for two hours of French, no way). So, instead of going to school I decided to go to the city centre and buy a couple of things. It was really productive actually. I found lots of nail polish of different colours (now I can do my rainbow ^^) and my top coat because I emptied the other one ^^.
I also found a very cute notebook with little chickens in the cover (it reminds me of my own chickens... not real ones... I mean my university classmates, I call them chickens... they call me mother hen. You don't wanna know, this level of crazines might be contagious).
And I also went to look for a book but apparently it doesn't exist anywhere, I can't seem to find it and it's getting frustrating already. It's called "El niño de arena" and I want it so that we can do our final paper fo semantics about that book, otherwise, we'll have to go with "Notre Dame" and, even though I like the story, I wouldn't want to do the paper on that book.
And that's it, I just did my homework and I have to read a book for Friday.
And I'm too lazy to translate today.

New term - Nuevo cuatrimestre.

  • May. 18th, 2009 at 2:22 PM
Edward is love
One weekend of holidays and I'm starting a new term. This is suicide...
Anyway. I already have my new schedule, and today I only have languages so I'm really happy, it'll be the only day that won't be marathonic.
And my subjects for this term are:
-French (eventually, I won't get rid of it till I finish it and I still have 8 more months to go...)
-History of French culture and language.
-Consecutive Interpreting English-Spanish.
-Technic Translation French-Spanish.
-Semantics and Lexicology II
Ok, I don't know if the names are correct, but I'm trying to translate them so...
And during this month I have a French teacher that leaves homeworks like crazy... so it'll be a busy month. Actually, I'm sure it'll be a busy term. From now on I think I won't sleep again.
But I'm happy, I love what I do so I'm sure I'll enjoy it, and I get to start interpreting (oficially) now, so it'll be good.
And now I leave you, I have to write a letter in French...
____________________

Happy - Feliz

YAY
I'm happy, I feel realised. I got a 9 in phonology, I'm so happy about it.
I can breathe now.
Everything is all right with the world.
The only bad thing is that we won't be with Nico next term, I think another teacher called Giselle is gonna give us interpretation at sight. But well, at least we'll have a few months to rest, because with him is just a lot of information.
Also, we saw the newbies today, they were taking a sort of "pre-course" before the new term starts, they look cute ^^. And when I finished my phonology final my teacher called me, he asked me to help with an interpretation for the newbies. I hadn't done it since a while so I said yes.
It was fun, I got to use the headphones this time, and I had a chair to sit on (instead of kneeling down to whisper the translation). I think I like interpreting better, is less stressfull.
And that's it. I'm done with this term.
New term starts on Monday... the horror...
I'll go, I wanna sleep.
___________________

Estoy tan feliz, me siento realizada.

So, yesterday I decided it was a good idea to make some cookies ^^. It wasn't such a good idea afterwards, I was tired (from making the dough) and all sweety because of the oven. But in the end, we made them and they are so delicious.
Here the pictures. You can read the description in my galleries, but they are in Spanish only.

And I would also like to show you some pictures a mall a few days ago (with the whole influenza virus and such). It was empty and I was impresed.

I've been making the subtitles for "Vincent" (Tim Burton). It's my final paper for English-Spanish translation. I downloaded the programs I needed this morning and I started putting all the subtitles in. I have the translation already, but my first draft is always a literal translation, so right now it's not the best. I have to fix it while putting it in the video.
The worst part of this special short cut is that everything is a rhyme, so I'm trying my best to keep that in Spanish and is giving me a headache already.
I'm only half way through, I think I'll continue tomorrow, before I go insane. Rhyming is so hard...
That is pretty much all. I've been writing some fanfics. I've been doing my fairy in cross-stitch (is going really well). I've been reading.
And now I've been doing my final papers.
But that's about it.
I was just excited to put subtitles in something.
________________________

He estado escribiendo fanfics, tejiendo mi hada (va muy bien), leyendo... y ahora haciendo mis exámenes finales.
Eso es todo.
Sólo estaba emocionada de ponerle subtítulos a algo.

Asesinato de un conejo

  • Apr. 26th, 2009 at 3:58 PM
Writting House

Reporte policiaco:

Caso cerrado.

Death

Well, let's start since... I don't even remember the last time I wrote an entry. Bad memory (Uyuki slaps her brain).
Anyaway. I've started japanese classes everyday (which is good because I get to practice more, but I also have to get up early and I'm not a morning person).
I've been doing great so far. I still have so many problems with grammar and so, but I hope they get better with time. I've started writing a diary in japanese (my sentences look like ones from a 5 year old, but I don't care) and my teacher checks it every now and then to correct the mistakes and all. I hope I'll improve my writting that way and that I also manage to learn some kanjis (I have to If I'm gonna write them).
And since we have classes everyday, it actually gives us the time to do more things outside the book (which again, is great). Every Monday we do a "write-as-many-kanjis-as-possible-in-five-minutes" kinda thing, and we're supposed to write more kanjis every Monday. The first time I only wrote 37, this last one I did 57 ^^.
We also have listening and reading comprehension. Conversations and writting. It feels like I'm learning more and I really like it. I can think a bit more in japanese, and I find it amazing.
(And, I've also been noticing more things in my anime videos, I can recognize more structures and so ^^).
Ok, another thing.
There is an African film festival right now called "Africala". My university always offers help to the festival if they need it, specially with interpreters and translators for the movies they bring. One of my friends is helping out right now and they sent her the script of a movie last Monday. They wanted it for Tuesday (oh lovely people...)
So I stayed at university until 5:00 o'clock to finish the translation. We divided the script in three eventually, but it's the first time I do a translation for something official outside school papers. It's stressfull, but ¿I felt so good. I just hope it was ok.
What else?
Yesterday, I remained at school until 6 studying with my friends for a "compared phonology" test that was supposed to be today. We studied everything, we went crazy probably, but we were ready for the exam, at least I was.
And then, this morning, I got up at quarter to six, I got ready and all. I was running late actually ^^U. Then I got a message from a friend, asking me if today we had classes. Since I thought she bumped her head or something I told her yes. No more than a minute later my dad called, telling me that apparently ALL the classes were canceled today. All of them, in the whole city. From Kindergarden to University. Since I know he is not crazy I asked my mum. She thought I was crazy.
We turned the telly on and there it was, the news. Today, the president announced that all classes in Mexico city were cancelled  because there was an influenza outbreak and until they knew how to control it everyone was to stay at home if possible. So no classes.
Actually, the news came out yesterday, but since I was studying at school I had no idea.
So I called the school and they told me there was gonna be no classes today. So I'm home with nothing to do.
My exam has been moved, I think we're gonna make it on Tuesday (because on Monday we have classes when the teacher is free, and we still don't know if we'll have classes on monday.)
Apparently is an influenza that comes from swines (like the avian flu, this one is swine flu).
I hate epidemics.
I think is the first time in my life that my classes have been canceled by the president. I've had always had school while the rest of the world had their epidemics. It's the first time this is happening, at least that I remember.
Well, those are the news so far. This has never happend before.

I just finished watching a japanese drama called "1 litre of tears". I have to admit it I cried.
It's about a 15 year old girl who starts having problems with walking steadily and after a check up the doctors diagnose her with spinocerebellar degeneration disease. After that, we actually see the strugle she has to keep on living as much and fully as she can.
It's an amazing drama based on a true story and it actually gives out a wonderful message: "Just being alive is a wonderful thing".
I recommend you to watch it if you can. I don't know if Youtube has it, but you can find it in asianrice.tv
What else?
My holidays have been nice, I love sleeping until late ^^. I finished "Trip to Ixtlan" and now I've started reading "son of a witch".
There's not much to tell anymore. Oh yeah! I learned how to do a skirt ^^ and how to operate the sewing machine ^^.
That's it.
Have a nice day.

Ya terminé "Viaje a Ixtlán" y ahora empecé a leer "Son of a witch".
